Greetings from Nesaquake Middle School PTA.
We hope you are having a fun and relaxing summer.  I would like to invite everyone to join the PTA at Nesaquake.  Each membership is $8.00 and our membership drive will begin the first day of school.  Each membership supports our children and the programs we bring into the school.    We welcome returning as well as new members.  To print out the form click here.

Our primary fundraiser is Entertainment books.  Our goal is for each child to sell at least one book.  Look for a copy in your child’s backpack.  They will be coming home in mid September.  If you do not wish to make a purchase please return the book to school.  Spiritwear will be sold during the August orientation.  Please take advantage of our full supply of  Nesaquake clothing.  We have Spiritwear Days at Nesaquake, the staff all wear red and white, bearing the Nesaquake name.  The spiritwear will also be available for purchase at Back to School Night, Concerts, and PTA meetings.

Yearbook sales will begin early in the school year.  All three grades are represented in the Yearbook.  Take advantage of the $5.00 discount by purchasing by January 1st.  The Yearbook will be $25.00.  After January first the Yearbook will cost $30.00.  Please purchase early.

We look forward to seeing you at our monthly meetings.  They are as follows:  9/19, 10/10, 11/14, 12/12, 1/9, 2/13, 3/12, 4/16, 5/14, 6/11.  All of these meetings take place on Wednesdays at 7:30pm, with the exception of December and January meetings, which will be at 10:00am.  At our PTA meetings we report on many activities taking place in the school as well as the district agenda.  Mr. Podd and Mr. Simmons also provide information along with our teacher representative, Mr. Eddington. For those of you who cannot attend PTA meetings, please check the website on a regular basis to stay informed.

Please continue your commitment and involvement in PTA.  Your involvement at the middle school level is just as important as the elementary level.  We have open committees and are in need of your assistance.  Some of the committees we have at Nesaquake are; blood drive, school photos, yearbook, cultural arts, and school boutique.  This is just to name a few.  We are also continuing to collect box tops so please send them to school.

If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to send me an email.  We always welcome new ideas, especially those that involve forming new committees thus providing more opportunities for parent involvement.  Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Thank you and see you in September

On February 21, 2007, Amanda Dinnigan, an 8 year old from Smithtown was involved in a serious car accident.  As a result Amanda was left a high-level quadriplegic.  Unable to move anything below her chin and on a ventilator she needs 24/7 nursing care.  With the help of the “Testaverde Fund for Spinal Cord Injury”, family members and close friends she is getting help, but she needs more.

May God Bless Amanda!
