January 13, 2010
Meeting was called to order at 10:05. We opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. In attendance for the board were Debbie Coppola and Dawn Wechsler. Debbie ran the meeting in the absence of the President Vanessa Star.
December’s minutes were available to view.
Dr. Simmons gave the Principal’s report. ELA test will be held at the end of April. The end of the second quarter is January 29th.
SEPTA. There will be a fundraiser held at Smithtown lanes on Saturday, January 24th at 2:00 pm.
BOE. Budget meetings start in February. Possible change in the bus transportation for next year, the district is looking into buying its own bus company. Our current bus contracts are up in June.
The teacher-student volleyball game has been changed to a new date in April. More information will be available soon.
Treasurer’s report was given by Debbie Coppola. There is a balance of $40,496.07 in the checkbook, which includes the sale of yearbooks.
The yearbook staff is in need of some photos for the yearbook from such school events as, 6th grade Halloween social, Drama Clubs etc. Yearbooks are now $30.00 each.
Box top contest will end on February 2. The 3 tops students will receive prizes.
The Next PTA meeting will be held on February 10th at 10:00 am.
